Beyonce’s Dad Steal Her Money

TMZ is reporting the reason superstar Beyonce severed her longtime professional relationship with her father (and former manager) Mathew is because he was pilfering her bank accounts. He denies those allegations and has filed court papers to get to the bottom of them.

The story goes like this …

According to the legal documents Mathew filed, Live Nation Entertainment (which owns monopolies like TicketMaster) told Beyonce that her father “had stolen money from Beyonce on her most recent tour or otherwise taken funds that [he] was not entitled to.”

The bootylicious singer’s spideysense must have gone all bajiggidy because she then had an audit done by her legal team. It concluded Live Nation was right — and Beyonce subsequently added her dad to the nation’s list of the unemployed.

And whom did she hire as her new manager? A former Live Nation exec.

So Mathew is saying Live Nation had a bit of a conflict of interest here — in other words, if it could sour Beyonce’s relationship with her father, it could then swoop in and have one of its own take that lucrative manager position.

The papers Papa Knowles filed say, in part: “Mathew insists the theft accusations by Live Nation are false, and he wants the judge to give him the right to take depositions of various people at Live Nation, to determine just how they concluded he was a thief.”

In Beyonce’s recent mini-documentary, “Beyonce: Year of 4,” she explained why she cut ties with her manager father:

“I’ve been managed by my father for a long time and a real change meant separating from him. It was scary but it empowered me and I wasn’t going to let fear stop me. It was very risky for me to step out on my own. Being a young woman I want to set the example that it’s possible for us to own our own businesses and own our own record labels. Sometimes we don’t reach for the stars, sometimes we are satisfied with what people tell us that we’re suppose to be satisfied with and I’m just not going for it.”

Which was a pretty classy cover if those allegations about his sticky fingers are true.
