Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ivan Sergei in Screen Adaptation of Jewtopia


Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ivan Sergei will headline a film based on the of comic stage play and bestselling book "Jewtopia."

Bryan Fogel and Sam Wolfson co-wrote the comic play; Bryan will direct and co-produce the film.

The story focuses on two friends, Chris O'Connell and Adam Lipschitz, both approaching their 30th birthdays. Gentile Chris is interested in dating Jewish women because he feels that they will make his life easier by making all of life's decisions for him. Jewish Adam wants to date Gentile women because he does not wish to be reminded of his roots. The two team up and teach each other how to woo the women of their choice.

Sergei, 40, will play Christian O'Connell and Hewitt, 32, Alison Marks, Christian's love interest. The two meet during a singles mixer at temple.

Hewitt is set to make her directorial debut with the supernatural flick "Wait Till Helen Comes."

Sergei was recently seen in Gravity comedy TV series. He played Carson Wigham in Jennifer Aniston headlining comedy The Break-up (2006).
