Ajay Devgan, Kajal Aggarwal's Singham Rolls March 2

Rohit Shetty's remake of the Tamil hit 'Singham' headlining Ajay Devgan and South hottie Kajal Aggarwal will begin production today, March 2.

Filming will begin in Rohit's favorite city, Goa, where he also shot All The Best and the Golmaal series, all films featuring Ajay Devgan.

The director, who is known for his flair for comedy, is ecstatic to return to an action-packed film after a long time.

The film will feature extravagant action sequences, conceptualized and designed by Rohit, who will also direct them himself. For the very first sequence, the director plans to blow up 20 cars!

"The scene is set in a parking lot, where a kidnapping takes place," explains Rohit. "It is a chase scene between Ajay and some gangsters for which we will require to blow up cars. In the shot, there will be about 200 cars out of which we will be blowing up 20 cars."

The film revolves around a Sub-Inspector named Durai Singham, a brave and just policeman who serves in his hometown primarily to fulfill his father's wish. Singam settles every dispute in his town patiently with his words of wisdom and resorts to force only when the situation demands it. A city girl who comes on vacation to Nallore, falls in love with Singam.

In the remake, Ajay Devgan will play the cop Singham and Kajal will play the city girl, Devgan's love interest in the film.

Produced by Reliance Pictures, Singham' hits theaters this July.
