Heer Aur Ranjha, headlining Shahid Kapoor, has reportedly been postponed because the film's producer, Sajid Nadiadwala, isn't happy with the script and has asked director Sabir Khan to rework it.
The film is budgeted at Rs 55 crore and Nadiadwala isn't taking chances.
The delay has thrown Shahid's schedule in a disarray; he was to work on the project after completing Mausam.
"The second-half of the script was not working," Sajid told the Mumbai Mirror. "I've asked Sabir to work on it and deliver by April 30. I can take this liberty with Sabir."
Heer Aur Ranjha is a contemporary take, set in New York City, on the Heer-Ranjha legend. It is reported to be an action-romance, not a pure romance drama.
Shahid Kapoor will train for two months under French stunt director Philippe Guegan to get into shape for the actioner.
