Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha Paired in Upcoming Romantic Comedy

Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha will reportedly be paired in an upcoming romance titled SOS – Son of Sardar to be directed by Ashwini Dheer.

Ajay Devgn and NR Pachisia will co-produce the film, a remake of a Telugu musical comedy Maryada Ramanna.

Pachisia told Mumbai Mirror.

"It is a fresh pairing. Both Ajay and Sonakshi are intense actors and they will surely create magic on screen. Considering it is an action packed love story, we decided to cast a fresh face opposite Ajay. We try to do different things with our projects every time in terms of casting. I am now looking forward to start the film early next year."

Maryada Ramanna (2010) was inspired by Buster Keaton's slapstick and situational comedy film Our Hospitality (1923).

SOS – Son of Sardar (Surprise, surprise!) is set in Punjab.

Sonakshi, 24, who has just one film to her credit so far, is fast becoming one of Bollywood's busiest actress with five projects in hand: Shirish Kunder's Joker with co-star Akshay Kumar, Abbas Mustan's Race 2, Shirish Kunder's Kick with co-star Salman Khan, Prabhu Deva's Rowdy Rathore with co-star Akshay Kumar and Dabangg 2 with Salman Khan.

Three of her upcoming films are remakes of South films. Besides SOS, Kick is a remake of a Telugu film by the same name and Rowdy Rathore is a remake of the Telugu film, Vikramarkudu.

Ajay too is on a roll having starred in Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge, Raajneeti, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Aakrosh, Golmaal 3, Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji and this Friday, July 22 release Singham.

Ajay's new projects include: Tezz, Rascals and Vishal Bhardwaj's yet to be titled romcom with co-star Anushka Sharma.

Ajay and Pachisia earlier worked together in Zameen (2003) which was directed by Rohit Shetty.

Kareena Kapoor Ethnic Effervescence at Bodyguard First Look

Kareena Kapoor looked demure in a no-fuss white and orange top and black churidar at the first look launch of Bodyguard at PVR Cinemas in Juhu, Mumbai on Thursday, July 21.

The 30-year-old was joined at the event by her co-star Salman Khan, dressed casually in a Being Human Tee and floor sweeping destroyed jeans, a far cry from the suited FBI agent like bodyguard that he plays in the film.

Kareena was dressed to character, as she plays a college student, the daughter of a business tycoon from Patiala, Punjab.

Her white floral knee length top had three quarter length sleeves, scoop neckline, and was accented with glittering lace on neck, sleeves and hem.

She accessorized with glittering thong heels, turquoise blue chokar and a stack of colorful bangles in her left arm.

Her long dark hair, styled sleek straight with a side parting, draped her shoulders.

She wore thick eyeliner, shimmering orange lipstick and a wash of warm color on her high cheeks.

Kareena and Salman posed for photogs on the red carpet and fielded questions from the media.

Bodyguard is a romantic action film, directed by South director Siddique. The film is a remake of Siddique's 2010 Malayalam flick of the same name.

The film bows in theaters on August 31.

Anushka features on the cover of the magazine's July 2011 issue in a revealing satin nightgown, with her bed-head and scarlet pout suggesting that sleep isn't what she had on her mind.

Gemfields have introduced 'Emeralds for Elephants' in India as part of an awareness campaign to raise funds to protect the elephant habitat in India.

Gemfields has selected ten jewelers across the country to create jewels using ethically mined emeralds from Zambia. The designs are inspired by the elephants and the corridors the mammals roam.

The 10 design firms are: Abaran Jewelers of Bangalore, Gem Palace of Jaipur, Khanna Jewellers of Delhi, Meena Jewelers of Hyderabad, Narayan Jewelers of Baroda, Sawansukha Jewelers of Kolkata, Talwarsons Jewelers of Chandigarh, Vummidi Bangaru Jewelrs of Chennai, and Anmol Jewelers and Nirav Modi of Mumbai.

The headlining piece from the collection will be a Ganesha sculpture called Emerald Avighna, with a 638-carat Gemfields Zambian emerald created by well known sculptor, Arzan Khambatta.

The collection will be auctioned by Sotheby's in October 14 at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai. Part of the proceeds from sale of jewels will be used to fund the World Land Trust's 'Indian Elephant Corridor' project.

The India campaign is followed by a highly successful 'Emeralds for Elephants' fund raiser organized by Gemfields at Selfridges in London in June 2010.

She has not signed any films since then, but recently Karan Johar said he is keen on bringing back the cast of Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gham together for a sequel of the film. Other stars in the 2001 family drama included Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor.

Salman Khan Gets Caged For 'Ek Tha Tiger'

Salman Khan has been known to 'call the shots' in films that he features in, but that was before he signed up with Yash Raj Films (YRF).

'Ek Tha Tiger' producers YRF have asked Salman to work exclusively on their project during its production, according to a Mumbai Mirror source.

YRF doesn't want Salman to work in his brother Sohail Khan's Sher Khan while he is working on Ek Tha Tiger, as had been planned earlier.

Surprisingly, Salman has agreed.

In deference to a request from YRF head honcho Aditya Chopra, Salman, 45, has blocked his dates exclusively for Ek Tha Tiger.

Salman's ready accommodation, despite three back-to-back super hits, stems from the close family ties between the Khans and the Chopras. Salman's father, Salim Khan, worked with the YRF in some of their most successful projects like Deewaar and Trishul.

Kabir Khan helmed Ek Tha Tiger is to begin production later this month.

It will be the first time Salman and YRF are working together.

Salman's brother Arbaaz Khan announced the rescheduling in a tweet on July 15.

"Salman is completing BODYGUARD now. Then he starts a yashraj film Ek THA TIGER after that Sohail's film and then mid next year DABANGG 2"

Interestingly Arbaaz did not mention Sajid Nadiadwala production Kick in the timeline given in his tweet. The film is to be helmed by Shirish Kunder. Sonakshi Sinha is the female lead in the film.

Back in June, Sohail had told Mid-Day:

"Aditya Chopra's Ek Tha Tiger will have a small shooting spell in July. After that, there will be a long stretch from September onwards. That's when I start my shooting with Bhai (Salman) for my own film. Adi and I have sat together and worked out the collective schedules of the two films so that there's no clash of dates."

Sohail had further gushed about Aditya Chopra:

"He's a really cool guy. So organized, it's a pleasure working with him. Not for a moment was there a clash of interest between my film and his. Bhai is working with Yashraj for the first time. And both the families (the Khans and Chopras) are equally enthusiastic about it."

Aishwarya Rai World's Hottest Mama-To-Be

Aishwarya Rai looked an angel in skinny jeans and a long sleeve baggy striped top that hid her baby bump at Mumbai airport on her return from New Delhi on Thursday morning, July 14.

Aishwarya fans will be delighted with their first look at the former Miss World's preferred styling during pregnancy: demure, but trendy.

Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh Still a Couple

Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh continue to be an item, but stay at arms length when attending public events together.

Intriguingly enough, they are often at the same public event, yet don't hang out with each other, fueling speculation that they have split.

For example, Anushka and Ranveer both attended the Taj Express musical show premiere in Mumbai on July 10, arriving separately; Ranveer first , Anushka, 15-20 mins later. During the event they weren't seen together. Anushka spent much of her time hanging out with Rani Mukerji's parents.

The show got over late in the night, and the celebrities left one by one.

Eventually, Vaibhavi and her sister Shruti Merchant, the choreographer and director of the musical, respectively, also left.

Ranveer and Anushka still seemed to be inside so a couple of curious photogs, including ours, sneaked in to see what was going on.

Guess what? Ranveer and Anushka were chilling out with each other at the make shift lounge, beverages in hand.

Before the photogs could close in they bolted to an inside hall that was cordoned off by security.

Her hair was styled in a tousled off center updo with braided top on the left side of the forehead and a neck grazing tendril on the right. A sparkling seashell hairband perfectly complimented the dramatic styling.

Sonam appeared festive at the event, perhaps buoyed by the jaw dropping effect of her outstanding style statement; she frequently broke into splitting laughter as she and Shahid addressed the media and answered their questions.

Madhuri Dixit, who recently returned to Mumbai, enraptured with old world Bollywood charm in a glittering nude sari at the wedding reception of celebrity Doctors Abhishek and Shefali on Sunday, July 10.

Madhuri, 44, arrived at the wedding solo wearing the heavily embellished sheer net sari and a matching sleeveless blouse with revealing scoop neckline and cap sleeves.

She accessorized with golden heels, red sparkling clutch, glittering jhumkas and a thick bangle in her right arm.

Madhuri Dixit, Vishal Bhardwaj Discuss 'Dedh Ishqiya'

Madhuri Dixit, who arrived in Mumbai early last week, met director Vishal Bharadwaj over the weekend to discuss his upcoming project Dedh Ishqiya.

Vishal is reportedly keen to sign Madhuri for a lead role in the film.

Arshad Warsi first dropped a hint that the 44-year-old Madhuri maybe part of the sequel, after news broke that Vidya Balan will not feature in it.

"I believe Maduri Dixit may do Ishqiya, if she does my dream to act with her will be fulfilled ... I am such a huge fan of hers" Warsi tweeted on June 18.

Anushka is currently filming for YRF production Ladies vs Ricky Bahl with co-star Ranveer Singh, who too was at the event.

Anushka and Ranveer, at one time rumored to be a couple, did not pose together for photogs. She was seen bonding with Rani Mukerji's parents.

Anushka forthcoming projects include Yash Chopra's directorial comeback with co-star Shah Rukh Khan and Vishal Bhardwaj's next with co-star Ajay Devgn.

Aishwarya Rai Ends 'Pregnant' Silence, Makes Peace with Madhur Bhandarkar

Aishwarya Rai and Madhur Bhandarkar have resolved their differences over the cancellation of the film Heroine.

Amitabh Bachchan ended the 'pregnant' silence from the Bachchan camp after Bhandarkar posted a rejoinder on his blog to Bachchan's earlier Twitter posts suggesting that Bhandarkar and UTV had acted spitefully by dropping the film just because Aishwarya was pregnant.

Amitabh Bachchan, who was in Ahmedabad yesterday to promote Bbuddha Hoga Tera Baap, announced the reconciliation when asked to comment on the controversy created by his initial remarks and Bhandarkar's rejoinder.

In his blog post, Bhandarkar elaborated the reasons that forced him to cancel Heroine. He pointed out the role in the adult themed film would have required Aishwarya to smoke, be in the company of smokers and in the midst of crowds, all of which would have been unsafe for her due to her pregnancy.

Bhandrakar also voiced his hurt that Aishwarya didn't confide in him about her pregnancy before filming started.

UTV and Bhandarkar have lost a lot of money on account of the film's cancellation after shooting started, besides many technicians have lost their jobs on the project

Announcing the reconciliation in Ahmedabad, Bachchan said:

"This is a matter between the producer and Aishwarya, and I cannot comment on it.

"When I was asked (previously) what I have to say, I had said that they (Aishwarya and Bhandarkar) would sort it out, and in fact they have sorted it out," he said.

"(Despite this) if some person expresses his feelings about it he has the right to do it. And then others will also express their feelings on the issue and this way whatever is the truth, will come out," Bachchan said.
