Miley Cyrus' father, Billy Ray, said on Thursday, March 17 that he had called off his divorce in an effort to mend his family.
Speaking on an episode of The View that will air on Friday, Cyrus, 49, said:
"I've dropped the divorce. I want to put my family back together … Things are the best they've ever been.
"I feel like I got my Miley back. I feel like we're the daddy and daughter we were before Hannah Montana."
Billy Ray attributed the family reconciliation to improved communications.
"Communication I think is one of the biggest problems that we as human beings have in this whole world," he says, "and I think for the first time me and my entire family are finally communicating with each other in a way that it's been quite some time and to answer your question, things are really the best they've ever been."
Miley Cyrus' parents - Billy Ray and Tish - filed for divorce in Tennessee in late October, 2010, citing irreconcilable difference.
The couple has been married for 17 years and has five children including Miley.
In February, in an interview to GQ magazine's March issue, Billy Ray said he wished Disney channel's "Hannah Montana" had never happened.
"The damn show destroyed my family," an anguished Billy Ray told GQ's Chris Heath.
The interview took place five days after a video surfaced on the internet showing Miley taking a salvia hit from a bong.
Billy Ray also blamed Miley's handlers for the teen star's frequent derailments.
During his interview on the View, Billy Ray took a slightly different stance.
"Hannah Montana didn't ruin my family," he said. "Fame did."
"Sometimes when you get in this ride you feel like you're strapped to a rocket," he added.
