Brace yourselves, Octomom Nadya Suleman is headed to reality TV. The controversial mother of the world’s first surviving set of octuplets says despite mothering a brood of 14, she’s never “dated.” That’s precisely why she’s agreed to star in Celebridate, a new HDNet dating show in which normal people vie for the hearts of “celebrities.”
“I was lucky enough to be invited to be a part of it. I have not watched TV in almost a decade, but I might just tune into this one! I don’t perceive myself to be a celebrity, but I guess they do. To a certain degree, I am in the public eye,” Suleman told PopEater’s Naughty But Nice Column this week.
“I’ve never dated. This is actually the first time I have dated in my life,” she added. “I’ve had one boyfriend, and it was very fascinating to me; it was an unforgettable experience. I am painfully shy and anxious. That’s just my personality. So it’s difficult for me to interact and to have eye contact.”
Celebridate premieres in October. Roger Lodge — who famously emceed the syndicated dating show Blind Date in the early 2000s — will stand in as host.
