Food Poisoning Sidelines Katy Perry

Katy Perry is feeling a little under the weather. The “Teenage Dream” singer was forced to postpone a pair of concerts Stateside over the weekend after falling ill with a bout of food poisoning.

Friday’s show at Chicago’s Allstate Centre has been rescheduled to August 21 and Saturday’s show at St Paul’s Xcel Energy Centre, Minnesota, is now set for Aug. 23, according to a statement from Perry’s publicist.

The illness led to severe dehydration — of course that didn’t stop Katy from marching through a set at Summerfest in Milwaukee on Thursday night like a trooper. John Boler, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at Summerfest, said Perry wasn’t feeling well when she arrived and a doctor was in attendance during the day and the performance. He noted, however, that the star performed “beautifully” despite being sick.
