Liz Hurley has signed on to join the fifth season of Gossip Girl for a multi-episode arc, TVLine tattles report.
The model/actress/recent divorcee, 46, had been set to co-star in NBC’s critically-panned Wonder Woman revival, but that was scrapped before it even made it to air. Luckily for Hurley, Wonder’s ax freed her schedule up long enough for her to accept a role on the forthcoming season of the CW soap. She’s been cast as Diana Payne, a sexy, self-made media mogul who’s set to rock everybody’s worlds, including, and especially, Gossip Girl herself.
“Elizabeth’s sense of humor, intelligence and beauty fit the Gossip Girl world perfectly,” say GG exec producers Stephanie Savage and Joshua Safran. “Diana’s entrance on the Upper East Side will change the lives of all our characters — including, and especially, Gossip Girl herself,” the producers added. “Elizabeth’s sense of humor, intelligence and beauty fit the ‘GG’ world perfectly.
