In Short Term Shaadi Imran Khan reportedly plays an architect, Rahul, who suffers from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The role is an exaggeration based on a real life character – Imran himself!
The film produced by Karan Johar and directed by Shakun Batra additionally headlines Kareena Kapoor and Soniya Mehra.
Rahul freaks out when he finds things out of place. The crease on his pants has to be right, his shoes must shine. He is constantly organizing and has intrusive thoughts when it comes to sex.
According to a Mid Day source, the film features a steamy seduction scene that ends comically, ruined by Rahul's inability to chill.
Soniya Mehra's character is on a date with Imran, wearing a provocative short dress. She has the hots for him and starts to flirt. He attempts to escape into the men's bathroom, but she follows him and starts to make out. All Rahul can think of are the germs in the bathroom. Desperate, to ward her off, he turns the shower on and aims it at her, and that sure cools things down.
Imran's real life character ended up in the script.
"Shakun simply observed these traits, incorporated them in STS and exaggerated them for effect," says the source.
On a different note, all is well between Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor after they exchanged texts on Sunday.
The two actors had a falling apart following rumors that Ranbir had planted news reports insiuating that projects rejected by him were falling in Imran's lap. Ranbir cleared the air with Imran, assuring him he had nothing to do with the media stories.
"Yes, Ranbir texted me yesterday and I appreciate him reaching out to me. In any case, these are unimportant issues." Imran confirmed to TOI.
