Grilled by David Letterman on her relationship with Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez held her ground with maturity that defied her tender age; saying nothing, yet leaving nothing unsaid.
The clip below from the 'The Late Show with David Letterman' that aired on CBS Wednesday night, March 16, makes a delightful watch.
Letterman, first shows Gomez a photo of hers with Bieber at the Vanity Fair Oscar After Party - drawing an 'Aww...' from the 18-year-old Disney star - and then seeks her permission to show it to the audience.
"Of course," says Gomez.
The picture - showing Bieber with his arm around Selena's waist, fondly gazing into her eyes - draws an applause from the audience.
"It was your date...are you dating or are you not dating?" Letterman asks.
"It was like a prom night," Gomez deftly evades.
"You guys look very happy there. How long have you known him?"
"Almost like two years."
"Where did you meet?"
"Actually, his manager called my mom, who's my manager," Gomez says.
"I heard he was your paper boy," Letterman quips.
"I'm blushing!" Gomez responded.
"Are you dating, or you are not dating," Letterman persists.
"He's been in my life for so long, and it's just nice to have someone that understands what you're going through," says Gomez.
