Host Bear Grylls, the man known to many as the guy who drank his own urine and gave himself an enema in the middle of an ocean, tested Jakey’s survival skills by taking him to the Icelandic tundra and making him individually pull himself across a single rope suspended hundreds of feet over a deep ravine without a harness. Oh — and did we mention that the boys got a little naked! Bear and Jake braved icy Icelandic river waters and were forced to lose some of their clothes in order to survive the elements.
Because that’s the sort of thing Bear Gyrlls does.
“You’ve gotta admire somebody when they step out of their comfort zone and put their life in somebody else’s hands,” Bear told The Los Angeles Times about the stunt. “I was very clear with him and said, ‘Come on your own and trust me.’ He did incredible. What I like about the wild is when you’re squeezed, you see what people are made of.”
