Christina Aguilera Arrested With Boyfriend Matthew Rutler

TMZ reports that Christina Aguilera was arrested early Tuesday morning in West Hollywood along with her boyfriend, Matthew Rutler.

The singer was taken into custody in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, at 2.45am along with her boyfriend Matthew Rutler, who was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI).

The 30-year-old pop star was taken to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s substation and handed the charge. The driver, Matthew Rutler, 25, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and jailed on $5,000 bail, sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said.

Aguilera was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public so that she could be held at the West Hollywood sheriff’s station, Whitmore said. Law enforcement sources say Aguilera, listed at 5’2″ and 100 pounds, appeared to be “extremely intoxicated” and was “unable to take care of herself.”

Aguilera lost her footing at the Feb. 13 Grammy Awards during a tribute medley to singer Aretha Franklin. She also made headlines by botching a line while singing the national anthem at the Feb. 6 Super Bowl.
