Turns out, there is life after American Idol for award-winning songwriter Kara DioGuardi. The talent show pundit — now head judge on Bravo’s Platinum Hit — is poised to make her Broadway stage debut as murderess Roxie Hart in the latest revival of the Tony Award-winning musical Chicago. DioGuardi kicks off an eight week run in the show on Sept. 5. She joins Christie Brinkley, Brooke Shields, Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child, Sandy Duncan, Marilu Henner, Bebe Neuwirth, Ashlee Simpson, Michelle Williams, and Melanie Griffith as other notable names who have starred as Roxie in the theatrical production. Renee Zellweger won an Oscar for her take on the singing slayer in the 2003 movie musical.
Chicago debuted in 1996 and is now the fifth longest-running production in Broadway history.
